Volunteer With CTC
Our work advocating for better public transit in Iowa City is powered by passionate community volunteers. There are many ways to get involved based on your skills, interests and availability!
Volunteer Roles
Transit Surveying
Help collect critical data by surveying bus riders about their experiences, needs and pain points. Volunteers will be trained on best practices for respectful community-based research.
Community Canvassing
Spread awareness and gather petition signatures by canvassing neighborhoods, community events, and high-traffic areas. This grassroots outreach is vital for our advocacy campaigns.
Event Support
From town halls to rallies and informational sessions, volunteers assist with event logistics like setup, sign-in, distributing materials, and breaking down afterward.
Communications Support
Those with skills in areas like writing, graphic design, photography and social media can lend a hand creating and sharing impactful content to amplify our message.
General Support
There are always plenty of miscellaneous tasks that volunteers can pitch in on - from stuffing envelopes to assisting with data entry, mailings, and other administrative needs.
Volunteer Requirements
CTC welcomes community members age 16 and up to volunteer. Most roles have flexible time commitments that can suit your schedule - whether that's a few hours per month or more. We provide orientation to ensure all volunteers understand our mission and protocols.
