Get Involved with CTC
We're always looking for passionate and dedicated people to join our efforts advocating for better public transit in Iowa City. Whether you're a student seeking an impactful internship, a community member with time to volunteer, or someone interested in an official role, there are many ways to get involved with the Community Transportation Committee (CTC).
Internships
CTC offers internship opportunities during the fall, spring and summer terms for undergraduate and graduate students. Our interns play a vital role in conducting research, organizing events, engaging the public, and assisting with publications and communications.
Interns gain valuable experience in areas such as:
Community outreach and advocacy
Transportation policy and planning
Data analysis and geospatial mapping
Project management and leadership
If you're passionate about equitable mobility, sustainability, and improving our local transit system, we encourage you to apply for a CTC internship.
Volunteer Opportunities
CTC relies on volunteers to power many of our initiatives and events throughout the year. Some key volunteer roles include:
Community Canvassing - Help gather petition signatures and raise awareness
Transit Surveying - Collect rider input and observations
Event Support - Assist with logistics for meetings, forums, etc.
Communications - Support social media, website, outreach efforts
